Summary[]
When a cat named Flinch is bought by a player to impress a new girlfriend, he gets more then he bargained for when the Lady Friend's cat want to have a party of his own. However, the man is extremely abusive and hates cats in reality.
Plot[]
The short begins in a penthouse in New York, where a man named Riley calls a woman named Sophie to go out on a date. He says he's a cat lover like her and both agree to go to the opera on their date. Afterwards, Riley heads out to buy a cat.
Later that night, Riley returns home, having bought a small cat named Flinch. Riley warns Flinch that he in the apartment only so Riley can impress Sophie and threatens him by stating that if he finds one scratch on any of his stuff, he will donate Flinch's organs to the violin factory. Just then Sophie arrives and after greeting Riley, she enters, wanting to see Flinch. Then, she pulls her cat, Fix, out of her purse and leaves them to play together while she and Riley are at the opera.
After Sophie and Riley leave, Flinch sees Fix messing with Riley's record player and tries to get him to stop, only for Fix to bite him and then apologize. Wanting to ease him of his stress, Fix takes out a record and plays music that Flinch likes. While still dancing, Flinch sees Fix in the aquarium, cooking and eating the fish. After getting out of the aquarium, Flinch and Fix discovered Riley's secret room and Fix decides to host a party.
After some time, a bunch of cats show up, making Flinch worried about what a mess they are leaving behind. But, he starts to loosen up and enjoys the party. While everything seems to be great, the cats hear something from the door and believing it to be the humans, they all ran away. As all of the cats leave, Riley and Sophie return to the apartment and to Riley's horror, his penthouse is completely ruined and sees Flinch still dancing. This causes Riley to become extremely angry and rush towards Flinch and grab him.
After getting a hold on Flinch, Sophie warns Riley to be nice to the cat, which causes Riley to snap. He says he's always nice to Flinch. He then starts to torture him while saying he's always feeding(forcefeeding), petting(so hard that Flinch can't breathe), and walking(dragging and kicking) Flinch. Sophie calls the Humane Society for help. Riley takes it too far when he starts biting Flinch's head, but that would change when two large men from the Humane Society arrive just in time. The men inform Riley that they were called in for the mistreatment an animal. They add that cruelty to animals is against the law in the State of New York.
After grabbing hold of him and torturing him back for what he did to Flinch (pummeling him to the point of his bones breaking), they decide to take him back to HQ to rehabilitate him to be a better owner. The short ends with Flinch and Fix being scratched by Sophie, hinting that Flinch is now Sophie's pet.
